Music education is an important aspect of providing children with a well-rounded education. When allowed to work in harmony with other subjects and areas of study, music helps children grow in self-esteem, build essential skills and prepare for bright futures.

Why Music?
Music is a science - It is exact and specific. It demands exact acoustics. A conductor’s full score is a chart, a graph with indicated frequencies, intensities, volume changes, melody and harmony all at once and with the most exact control of time.
Music is mathematical - It is rhythmically based on subdivisions of time into fractions, which must be done instantaneously and not worked out on paper.
Music is physical education - It requires fantastic coordination of fingers, hands, arms, lips, cheek and facial muscles, in addition to the extraordinary control of the diaphragmatic, back, stomach, and chest muscles which respond instantly to the sounds one hears and the mind interprets.
Music is art - It allows a human being to take all of these dry technically difficult techniques and use them to create emotions. That is one thing that many other subjects cannot duplicate: humanism, feeling and emotions.
Why we teach music - Not because we expect students to major in music, but rather, so they will be human and recognize beauty, so they will be sensitive and will have something to cling to, and will have more compassion, more gentleness, more good. In short, so they will have more life.
